Frequently Asked Questions

  • My fees are $175 for a 55 minute session. I offer longer sessions (90 minutes, and up to 2 hours) at a prorated fee. I have a limited number of lower-fee slots available for clients in financial need.

  • Sessions are typically 55 minutes long. In some cases, it may be helpful to meet for longer sessions, such as 90 minutes, depending on what we are working on. If I think a longer time frame could be helpful in our work, I will share this with you, and you can also feel free to ask me about this if you think it could be helpful. If we decide to meet for a 90-minute session, we may have to find another time to meet depending on what time of day we have been meeting.

  • I do not accept insurance at this time. However, many insurances offer out of network benefits for therapy. If that’s the case for you, I am happy to provide you with a document that you can submit to your insurance, who may then reimburse you for a portion of the cost (the exact amount will vary based on your insurance).

  • Yes! I am able to provide therapy to clients throughout Texas online over Zoom.

  • Great question! Hopefully from looking through my website you’ve gotten a pretty good flavor for me and my approach, and I hope that helps. However, there is also a somewhat mysterious element related to fit that you can only get from talking to someone. It’s important that you feel comfortable talking with a therapist, and it seems like you can connect. I offer a free 30-minute consultation call to talk things over, and help us get a feel for each other. If it seems like we may be a good fit, but you’re feeling unsure. I encourage you to reach out and talk with me! We may decide not to work together, and that’s ok! If we end up deciding not to working together for any reason, I may also be able to help you find someone who may be a better fit for what you’re needing.

  • In my practice, at the beginning of therapy, I require clients to meet with me on a weekly basis (at least 1 session per week), for at least 12 weeks. This is not to say that clients have to attend 12 sessions with me if we begin meeting-you may end therapy at any time, for any reason. This policy just means that I do not agree to meet with clients at a frequency of lower than once per week (such as once per month, or every-other-week) for at least the first 12 weeks. After the first 12 weeks, I may be open to meeting with a lower frequency, but that depends on several factors, including your goals for therapy, the type of work we are doing, and availability in my schedule.

The reason I require weekly attendance for the first 12 weeks in my practice is because I have found that this helps my clients and I to have enough time to get to know each other, for me to get clear on what they are wanting to get from therapy, and for them to learn about how I work. Usually, when I agree to go to an every-other-week frequency of sessions, it is because clients have met their goals, and are in a “maintenance stage” in our work, or are going through temporary financial hardship.
